It is terrible what has happened to Syria. A devastating earthquake struck the nation on February 6th, causing extensive damage and fatalities. Syria’s people urgently need aid after hundreds more injuries and over 2000 reported dead. Numerous families are now homeless due to the earthquake’s severe damage.
Zakat is an effective tool that can offer individuals afflicted by natural disasters relief and hope. By providing Zakat, Muslims can help in offering survivors in need of essentials like food, water, medical supplies, and shelter so they can rebuild their lives and have a chance at a better future.
We can prevent anyone from being ignored or left behind by offering aid to one another at such difficult times.
Your donation will support the following:
- The poor:
Helps the poor in Yemen, Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon
- The needy:
Gives the needy people of Yemen, Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon the means to stay alive (Food, water, non-food items, shelter, and livelihoods projects.)
- The debt-ridden:
This will pay off the families’ debt in Yemen, Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon. Their debts got accumulated due to their need for food and hygiene products. This will cover the debt of necessities only.
- Fi Sabeel Allah. (Building mosques and Dawah only):
The issue of the Zakat eligibility of causes with a Dawah mandate is one that scholars differ over.
Check this article on the eligibility of similar campaigns for Zakat.
On that basis, Bonyan accepts Zakat from donors who feel comfortable abiding by this opinion.
- The wayfarer:
It will go to support the Refugees in the camps of Yemen, Syria, and Lebanon.
- Those who work on [administering] it:
Zakat workers will be given enough to suffice them for their operation and assistants.
We have a lot of humanitarian workers who do their work for free!
This will help our volunteers reach more people with aid in Yemen, Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon.
There is so much good in this campaign, Insha’Allah, for the people who need Zakat and for you, my brothers and sisters.
There are a variety of Zakat eligible causes that you can support, including education, providing water and shelter (building community homes for the poor), Iftar, and many other projects.
Just think of how many people you could support by doing this outstanding obligation, Insha’Allah.
So, what are you waiting for?
