What is Zakat on Gold?
Zakat on gold refers to the annual obligatory payment made on gold that is owned by a Muslim above a certain threshold (known as the nisab).

Who is Eligible to Pay Zakat on Gold?
A Muslim is obligated to pay Zakat on gold if they meet the following conditions:

- The gold is not being used for personal use (e.g., wearing gold jewelry).
Calculating Zakat on Gold
The nisab for Zakat on gold is 85 grams of pure gold. If a Muslim owns 85 grams of gold or more, they are required to pay 2.5% of the total value of their gold as Zakat.
