Feeding the Poor

Sharing food with any type of people is Sadaqah if you do it for the sake of Allah.

Also, The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, “What you feed yourself is Sadaqah for you. What you feed your child is Sadaqah for you. What you feed your wife is Sadaqah is for you. What you feed your servant is Sadaqah for you.” [Bukhari]

It is essential to feed poor people because our prophet (SWT) said, ‘Give charity, and cure your sick ones through the giving of charity, for verily charity repels accidents and illnesses, and is a source of increase in your life spans and your good deeds.[Kanz al-’Ummal, 16113].

Giving Water to the Needy

Giving water to needy people is the best charity you can do; according to our prophet, the Messenger of Allah (saw) was asked, “Which charity is best?” He replied, “[Providing] water”’. [Abu Dawud]

And Allah says in the Qur’an, ‘And whoever saves one [a life] – it is as if he had saved all of mankind.’ (Qur’an, 5:32)

Imagine every time you give water to the needy, saving all of mankind.

Helping and Sponsoring the Orphans

Orphans are mentioned 22 times in the Qur’an, and sponsoring an orphan is a huge thing in Islam.

Sponsoring orphans is a cause particularly dear to the Prophet Muhammad’s (saw) heart, and about orphans, he said:

‘The one who cares for an orphan and myself will be together in Paradise like this’, and he (saw) held his two fingers together to illustrate.

[Bukhari]

Taking Care of Widows
