The month of Ramadan is an appropriate opportunity in which the servant draws near to God Almighty through all acts of worship, foremost of which is Doa’a.
There are many “Doaas” that can be recited in the month of Ramadan, the Doa’a can be a personal Doa’a or a Doaa for all Muslims.
Teach Quran to Children
In Ramadan, children are taught about the Quran and its importance in their lives.
During this time, parents would often teach their children at home or send them to a nearby mosque to learn Quran while they fasted.
Teaching Quran in Ramadan can be a difficult task for parents as children often find it boring, but there are ways to make it fun for them. One of the best ways to do this is to make it interactive and fun. For example, you can make it a game where the children try to get as many points as possible by completing tasks such as reciting verses.
The benefits of teaching the Qur’an during Ramadan include:
- An opportunity for parents and children to spend quality time together.
- Children will understand the importance of learning about Islam during Ramadan.
Sadaqah and Zakat
Zakat is the practice of giving a certain percentage of your wealth to the poor and needy. In Ramadan, Muslims are encouraged to give Sadaqah, which is an act of charity in the form of food, drink, or money.
Sadaqah is considered one of the five pillars of Islam, and it’s not only for Ramadan but all year round. The Quran says…
The best among you are those who have believed and done righteous deeds.
Also, combining charity and fasting is one of the reasons for entering the highest part of Paradise. As our beloved Prophet (P.B.U.H) said: “There are rooms in Paradise whose backs can be seen from their bellies and their bellies from their backs.” They said: Who are they, O Messenger of God? He said: “For the one who speaks well, who feeds the food, who fasts regularly, and prays at night while people are asleep.” Perhaps these qualities all meet in Ramadan.
Distribute Dates and Water in Heavy Traffic Places
The distribution of dates and water has become a Ramadan phenomenon in the current season. You can hardly find the main road without a group of young men carrying water and dates to distribute it to fasting people caught by the call to sunset prayer on the road.
During Ramadan, people compete for good and compete to do good deeds, as charitable societies compete to provide dates, water, and snacks to those fasting on the roads and the main signs.
Feed the Fasting People
While we all know about the happiness and relief we could spread to those in need by providing food over Ramadan, many of us are unaware of the Prophet’s (saw) teachings about feeding the fasting.
When a person asked the Prophet (saw) what the best deeds are in Islam, He said: “To feed the poor and greet those you know and those you don’t know.” [Bukhari]
The Messenger (saw) also extolled the virtues of feeding the fasting, saying: “Whoever feeds the person who is breaking his fast, he will have his reward (for his fasting) without decreasing anything from the reward of the fasting person.” [Tirmidhi]
So, the Messenger (saw) described feeding the poor as one of the best deeds in Islam, and He spoke extremely highly of feeding the fasting people – how much more favorably would He look upon us for feeding someone poor and fasting?
Feeding the fasting over Ramadan is even closer to the Prophet’s (saw) heart than providing food to those in need over the other months of the year. So when you feed a fasting person, you are spreading joy to those in need and gaining countless rewards for yourself.
