How to Give Sadaqah for Illness?

The Prophet (saw) said, “Treat your sick ones with charity.” (Saheeh al-Jaami).

It is good to give Sadaqah when a loved one falls ill to help cure disease and avert a sick fate. The Prophet (saw) also said that “Sadaqah appeases the Lord’s anger and averts an evil death.” (Tirmidhi).

Small Water Well

Creating a water well counts as Sadaqah Jariyah, as Sa’d ibn Ubadah reported:

I said, “O Messenger Of Allah, My mother has died. Shall I give charity on her behalf?” The Prophet said, “Yes.” I said, “Which charity is the best?” The Prophet said, “A drink of water.”.

This means that the best form of Sadaqah Jariyah we can give is water.

Solar Water Well

The system of solar water wells is suitable to provide water to the entire household or hundreds of heads of livestock.

They can replace the standard household well pump, although the slight cost increase in this system is due to the higher performance. But is also driven by the higher power requirements and the number of solar panels required.

The (Thawab) for those who sponsor others to learn is such a big reward from Allah. As our Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said,

Whoever guides good, then for him is the same reward as the one who does it.

And also, there is another Hadith:

It’s permitted to pay the zakat to a seeker of knowledge, even for forty years long.

Eyes Surgery

Giving Sadaqah or helping a person with physical problems is a big reward from Allah.

The eye is the most important physical part of our bodies.

It will be a good reward if you give eye surgery to someone who really needs it to start a new life.

Sadaqah Removes Difficulties – Hadith

Once Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was sitting along with his companions, meanwhile, a Jew (woodcutter) passed from there. He (PBUH) saw him and told his companions that he would be bitten by a snake and die today. In the evening, the companions of the Prophet (PBUH) were shocked to see him. They straightly went to the prophet and asked him how his prediction got wrong. He (PBUH) called the Jew and asked him to open up the bundle of chopped wood. As soon as he opened the pile, a deadly snake came out. Then the Prophet (PBUH) interrogated a Jew about what particular act he had done today. To its reply, Jew said I had not done anything special except feed a hungry beggar today. Then Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that the Jew was destined to die today, but Allah increased his life because of his act of charity. He further added that charity closes seventy doors of evil, and Allah said, ‘He asked Israel to spare one’s life, if he does charity, before his death (Bukhari).

Hadith About Sadaqah for Illness

We can follow so many Hadiths and verses from The Quraan to give Sadaqah and help needy people. The Prophet (S.A.W.) said,

“Treat your sick ones with charity.”

(Saheeh al-Jaami).

And also, the Prophet (PBUH) gave us a Hadith that shows us the benefit of Sadaqah, which is:

Whoever guides good, then for him is the same reward as the one who does it.

Giving Sadaqah isn’t just helping the needy. It helps our souls be kind, compassionate, and loving towards others, bringing a helping hand to one another, and makes us feel the urge to help more people, which ultimately, brings Unity to our Ummah. And that is what Islam is all about.

Who Deserves Sadaqah?

Sadaqah can be given to anyone in need.

Can I Give Sadaqah to My Family?

Yes. You can give Sadaqah to your family. The Prophet (PBUH) said, “The best of charity is to your needy relatives.”

Can We Give Goats as Sadaqah?

Yes. You can.
