UNICEF works in more than 150 countries to protect children from violence, exploitation, and abuse.
A few of the essential protection objectives set by UNICEF — Child Protection are;
- To ensure that children, girls and boys, are safe wherever they live, learn, and play.
- To ensure that children with special needs receive targeted support.
- To strengthen the capacity of children to participate in their own protection.
- To give girls and boys child-friendly access to asylum, refugee, other legal procedures, and essential documents.
Today, refugees are not only the responsibility of UNICEF, UNHCR, and the UN organizations. It is literally the responsibility of each one of us.
